Easy Homemade Peach Ginger Vinaigrette

News alert - the peaches are here!  I was pretty excited the other day when I walked into Trader Joe's and saw the display of boxed peaches.  I've always had the best luck getting them there and hope they stick around for a long time - they are the juiciest and most flavorful ones ever.  Besides just eating them plain, I was inspired to create this Peach Ginger Vinaigrette from my Cuisine at Home magazine.  I'm always looking for new dressings to try and making homemade is super easy - peachy keen, right :)

Fresh Cherry Chocolate Ice Cream

With summer in full swing, it's time to be thinking about ice cream! Because summer + a treat = ice cream, right?  Today for your brain freeze pleasure, I'm sharing this Fresh Cherry Chocolate Homemade Ice Cream.  As a kid, one of my favorite flavors was vanilla with fresh cherries.  I liked that way the cherries were cool and icy.  Back in the day, I don't recall chocolate chunks in it but you can never go wrong with chocolate added to anything as we all know.  It was an interesting day trying to get pictures and keep reading to see what happened!

The Big Apple!

Top places to see when visiting New York City!

A couple weeks ago we went on a family vacation - no, not the one where we all pile in the family truckster and head out to see Wally World!  Though that could be interesting!  We flew from Minneapolis to Philadelphia to visit our east cost family including parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We were 7 total - the DIY Guy, our younger daughter, older daughter, her husband, the two grandkids and myself.  Our stops included Bangor PA (John's family), Endicott NY (my family and where we lived before moving to Minnesota) and Scranton PA (extended family and oh, The Office anyone?).  The weather was great, the visit was fun and we all enjoyed spending time with everyone.  A four day whirlwind!

About two months before our trip my younger daughter Danielle asked if I would be interested in going to NYC for a couple days afterwards and the answer was yes (John did not want to go)!!!  Today I'll be sharing some of the sights we saw and why you might want to plan a trip there as well.

Easy Strawberry Cheesecake Ball

Today's recipe reminds me of my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter Emily because it is pink (underneath those yummy mini chocolate chips)!  She loves everything pink.  One day I was with my daughter picking her up from day care and I said Nana has a gift for you back at the house and the first thing out of her mouth was "is it pink?"  Too darn cute and yes, it just happened to be that color!  She was thrilled.  So when I was making this Strawberry Cheesecake Ball, I had Miss Em on the brain.  Not only would she love to dig in but it is the "correct" color!  So if your favorite color is pink (or even if not), head over to  Real Housemoms where you will find me sharing my monthly recipe.
