These baked lemon poppy seed donuts are just a nice treat to satisfy your sweet tooth without too many calories.
This week I've been pretty good sticking to a routine. I've gone to the club three mornings this week. I get up at 5 and go before work - yep it's tough especially since it is so cold here. At least I have an electronic car starter and get the vehicle nice and toasty before leaving so my body isn't shocked too much! I just know that if I don't go before work that I won't go afterwards. After a couple weeks, it becomes a (good) habit.
I think I've done pretty good eating too. Just sticking to 3 meals a day (no second helpings) and 2 light snacks. Oh and did I mention that I got a fitbit for Christmas? I really didn't think I would ever want one but it does help keep me motivated. I'm also motivated since we are headed to Mexico in a couple weeks. I know I should have started earlier but every little bit helps, right?
If you really want to keep these lighter, just leave off the glaze. And in case you want other donut recipes check these out on the blog Mini Cinnamon and Sugar and Pina Colada.
But I have to admit, we loved the glaze.
It's also fun to make them in two sizes - the mini ones are cute!
