Christmas Dinner Menu Plan

Don't let the holidays put you in a tizzy - we have the perfect Christmas Dinner menu plan for you!

Christmas Dinner Menu Plan Recipes

Time to make a list and check it twice so you can prepare your holiday meal for those that are not naughty but nice!  We have some great choices from appetizers to dessert and even a recipe on how to make a festive stove top potpourri.  Sit back, relax, do some recipe browsing and have your menu plan done in a snap!

I'm sure every family has some sort of family traditions around the holidays, right?  It could be as simple as "I'm not cooking and we are getting take-out" to making a pretty fancy meal with all the trimmings.  I have to admit we are more on the fancy side when it comes to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Coming from an Italian background I grew up with a meatless meal on Christmas Eve.  We would go to my grandmother's in PA with other aunts, uncles and cousins.  Our meal consisted of several courses with the first being a simple spaghetti with a tuna sauce followed by fried shrimp, fried smelts and maybe another kind of white fish and a few side dishes.  It was a wonderful feast that was followed by gift opening and then cookies for dessert.

I have kept the tradition going and have expanded it to "The Feast of the Seven Fishes".  Yep, I try to have 7 different kinds of fish/seafood at the table.  Luckily our good friends come over so there are lots of people to eat the feast!  We start out with a cheesy crab dip with other appetizers.  Next up is shrimp cocktail and a simple green salad.  The main course in the past have included baked scallops, spaghetti with clam sauce, fried walleye, fried shrimp (I count this as a separate fish), and another kind of white fish either grilled or fried.  LOTS to eat and no one goes away hungry  We pretty much eat the entire night ending with cookies or ice cream around 10:30!  I really enjoy the night and looking forward to hosting again this year.

And Christmas Day is another day of feasting and were we start with a brunch and move onto homemade raviolis!  And then January 1st we work it all off :)

Enjoy the holidays!!  Happy eating!
