Pool Party Menu Plan

Pool Party Menu Plan

Hey folks, summer is still going strong and today a group of us gals have gotten together to share a meal plan for you!  On the first of each month we will be coming together with a themed party plan and this month it is Pool Party time!  So start planning your party and be sure to check out some of these recipes to make your party a splash!

When I was a youngster, our neighbors next door had a built in pool.  Oh boy we thought that was so cool!  They were the only family in the neighborhood and of course we all wanted to get invited.  We would hang out in our yard hoping they would see us so we'd get an invite.  When we did, I would beeline it in the house, change into my suit, grab a towel and head right over.  We didn't always get an invite, some days the mom just wanted her have her own two kids (imagine that LOL) and not have a pool full of neighborhood kids hanging around.  Those day I probably moped around the house - oh well, we did get invited a lot and I should have been thankful for that.

Years went by and a couple of families moved in and out of the house.  One of the last times I was at my parents house about 10 years ago, I noticed the pool was gone and filled it!  That made me kind of sad as I had such fond memories of hanging out there.

We've never owned a pool other than kiddie pools when the kids were small but we still had some pool parties.  We'd fill it up and then place the Little Tykes slide in it to make it fun for kiddos.  The size of the pool never mattered - just getting together with friends and splashing around made it a great way to beat the heat and have some summer fun!
