Best of the Weekend-Market Time

Stay Connected with Cooking on the Front Burner

Welcome to Best of the Weekend!  It's the last party of May and we're also announcing tonight is Lisa's last night with us.  On a personal note, I'm going to miss her being at the party every week.  Lisa and I typically would select the same features of the week so it got to be a joke between us!  Great minds think alike and all that.  While we totally understand that life happens and she needs to devote time to other things, she will still be blogging - whew!  I know you will still want to visit her and see some of her great recipes!

Creamy Lemon Dip

Creamy Lemon Dip | Cooking on the Front Burner

Pucker up! Your taste buds are in for a treat today with this Creamy Lemon Dip.  I've had a love affair with lemons for as long as I can remember.  I tried to keep it a secret but the DIY Guy found out!  Probably because I add a squirt or zest to many of the dishes I make.  I think he can take it or leave it but not me!  I always have a couple stashed away in the refrigerator.  So when life gives me lemons, I take 'em!

Best of the Weekend-Let's Picnic

Stay Connected with Cooking on the Front Burner

TGIF and ya for a long weekend!  What plans do you have?  We are going to a couple of graduations parties (tis the season), working in the yard, planting flowers and visits with the family.  When I was younger my parents used to take us to the cemetery to place flowers and pay our respects.  We've never done that with our girls since we moved away from our hometown a long time ago.  It was a very cool thing to do and then we would go on a picnic with other family members.  So fun and I miss those days!

Patriotic Treat Recipes

If you haven't noticed Memorial Day is sneaking up on us so today I'm sharing some fun and easy treats for your holiday weekend!  I've collected some great recipes from some fellow bloggers that you are sure to enjoy.  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  I'm hoping for some nice weather to do some yard work including working on my flower planters. I love meandering around the local gardens and deciding what I want to put together.  Can't wait to get my hands in some dirt!

Best of the Weekend

Stay Connected with Cooking on the Front Burner

Welcome to Best of the Weekend!  Have any big plans? I'm crossing something off my bucket list this weekend and in LA for a 2 day food photography class.  I'm excited and a bit nervous.  I've checked around my neck of the woods for some sort of hands-on class but have not come across any. I especially like that this class is dedicated to food - the prep, styling, lighting, etc.  The class size is small with two instructors and it will be fun to be with folks who share my interest of food photography.  I hope to learns lots and write a post about my experience and some tips for you!

Best of the Weekend - One Dish Wonders

Stay Connected with Cooking on the Front Burner

Welcome to Best of the Weekend!  I hope you had a great week and you are enjoying spring!  I love this time of year when our boulevard trees bloom - everyone has white snow crab trees and not only do they smell wonderful but they look like a white fluffy tree tunnel when driving by.  The blooms lasted about 5 days then last night we had one heck of a rain storm and now it looks like it snowed!  Oh well, guess I'll need to wait to 2016 for their next bloom time!

White Chocolate Pecan Oatmeal Cookies

White Chocolate Pecan Oatmeal Cookies | Cooking on the Front Burner

Pour yourself a big-o-glass of ice cold milk and grab these chewy white chocolate pecan oatmeal cookies to dunk in it!  Why? Well, I would love to have you help me celebrate my 15 year work anniversary that was last week on May 1st.  I couldn't let this occasion go by without some sort of celebration by treating my co-workers to some goodies.  They like goodies, I like goodies, and of course since I blog, I love to make goodies.  It's a win-win for us all!

Best of the Weekend Cinco de Mayo!

Stay Connected with Cooking on the Front Burner

Welcome May and Happy May Day!  I miss the days when the kids would go around the neighborhood dropping off and receiving May Day baskets.  There used to be lots of kids on our street and it was always a fun time.  Is this a tradition in your neck of the woods?  Then in 4 short days it will be Cinco do Mayo.  I rounded up some of my favorite recipes from last week to share with you tonight.
