Best of the Weekend and Gingerbread!

Hope as the time is winding down to the holidays that you are getting what you need to get done - done!  I'm spending this weekend working on food by making homemade raviolis and sauce that we have on Christmas Day  I also need to make some cookies and truffles.  We also are enjoying the season by getting in some play time!  Last weekend we went to see A Christmas Carol at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.  It was fantastic and we also had a great meal at Bar La Grassa.  Shopping is totally done and everything is wrapped.  I can't wait until granddaughter Emily arrives!

Welcome to Best of the Weekend and the first weekend in December. Yep, the hustle and bustle is in full force - so much to do and time is going fast!  I'm currently shopping with a friend on our annual shop til we drop excursion in Minneapolis.  We left early this morning, had our shop route mapped out and may not get back until late tonight!  It's always a fun day and I'm hoping to accomplish a lot!

Orange Candied Cranberries

Tis the season for cranberries - whether you like them fresh or as craisins, they are easy to find now so get them while you can!  I decided to make these Orange Candied Cranberries for a couple reasons.  Last Christmas Eve my friend brought these to our annual feast and I really liked them a lot.  Sweet and tangy at the same time!  So this year as I was making some cranberry recipes (post coming soon), I had some leftover and decided to whip up a batch myself.

Butternut Squash Ravioli

MMMMM..... Not that I'm trying to brag but I have a new favorite fall meal with this Butternut Squash Ravioli recipe that I'm anxious to share with you.  A bit putzy yes, but you can do it!  Your taste buds will be delighted with these little pillows of tasty squash covered in a sage cream sauce and topped with toasted pecans.
