Weekend Round Up

"The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear!"

This weekend was quite festive!  We started out Saturday by going to see ELF at the Ordway Theater, St. Paul MN, with our girls and their guys.  We loved it!  Elf is my favorite Christmas movie and was thrilled to see it in a musical production....the sets were so colorful and magical.  While the play is the same premise as the movie, the scenes and songs are different....not what I expected but loved it all the same!

The play was a matinee and afterwards we had reservations at a restaurant called Scusi.

The six of us enjoyed a variety of food including:  Home-made rosemary crackers with a garlic type hummus, Margherita Pizza, warm Mediterranean olives, Scusi salad, roasted button mushrooms, brussel sprouts with a rosemary honey glaze, Chicken Caccitore, Carbonara, Bucatini all'Amatriciana, Angel Hair pasta with San Marzano sauce and veal meatballs, Eggplant Parmesan and for dessert a chocolate irish cream cake for sharing.  And a nice bottle of Chianti and hardly any leftovers :-)  (I didn't want to annoy my family by taking pictures today)

We really enjoyed this place and would recommend it for you to try out!

Today my friend Signe has us for her annual brunch - the book club gals and our spouses.  Most of us could come and she had a lovely spread of food including some apps and the main event of an egg bake and fixings.  Really a fun and relaxing time to spend with friends.

Tomatoes with guacamole

Jim's special Tom and Jerry's!
Signe has pretty Lenox Christmas dishes and set a nice table

We enjoyed a egg bake made with sundried tomatoes and cheesy ham hashbrowns.  Sue provided some yummy muffins made with cranberries and figs....

I really enjoy our tradition!  Great Christmas gathering!  Thanks to our hosts for a wonderful time!
