Tree Trimming Time!

As of this past weekend, we are all set for Christmas decorations.... the outside was done about a week ago and now the house and the main event (the tree) were accomplished in the last couple of days.  I was excited that both the girls and their fellas were able to come for this festive event!

On Saturday morning, The Fisherman,  Kristina and her husband Benj shopped and brought back a nice sized Fraser Fir.  (I was home planning the food festivities).  Later in the day Danielle and her BF came and we started trimming the tree in the late afternoon.

We started with some tasty beverages - Cranberry Mojitos - these were fantastic and I had my own personal muddler....

Next up were some tasty appetizers called Caramelized Onion, Mushroom, Apple and Gruyere Bites

Later in the evening, it was time for dinner - we started with my creation of a  Spring Green Salad with Pear, Gorgonzola, Craisins, Candied Pecans with a Champagne Pear Dressing (from Trader Joe's)

The main event was a Chicken Piccata from Cuisine at HomeCrash Hot Potatoes from  The Pioneer Woman, and green beans (sorry - no photos)

Dessert was made by Kristina and Fresh Lemon Tarts with Cranberry Topping  They were delicious!!!!

We had our fancy pants meal in the dining room and I made a centerpiece out of tree branches and some flowers...

Well Santa, we are all ready for you and we have all been NICE this year!!
