Pumpkin Flower Fritters

This weekend I was scoping out the Farmer's Market in preparation for next weekend's bridal shower and came across a stand that was selling pumpkin flowers.  Growing up back east, these were a summer time treat!  I was excited to see them and brought a bunch home.  Tonight I found mom's (handwritten) recipe and fried us up a batch and called it dinner!

I cleaned and chop up the flowers...

And added it to batter made out of eggs, flour, S&P, romano cheese and a bit of baking powder.  About 3-4 tbls of batter are dropped in hot oil and fried on both sides.  Ummm - they brought back the good ole days at my grandma's house!
