Simple Easy Chili

Someone remind me again of the date - isn't the end of April not suppose to feel like early March?  Geez - this weather is getting to me.  Yesterday we had a teaser with 60's now today and tomorrow - more 40 degree days!  Twins game is canceled... 2nd time in 5 days due to rain.  Ugh!

So tonight's recipe is more of a "winter" dish but most appropriate for the type of day it was.  It's called Simple Easy Chili - fast to make and simple ingredients. 

Chop the peppers and brown with the ground beef

The seasonings - chili powder and Zesty Italian dry salad mix are added

The rest of the ingredients go in next, bring to boil - kind of half cover the pot and simmer anywhere from 30-45 minutes.

This warmed us up on this cool night - we debated about how many stars - we decided on 3 only because we've had fancier chili!  But this is very good!

Top with cheese if you like

Simple Easy Chili Serves: 4-6 Calories: NA Prep Time to Table: 45 minutes
Recipe : not sure where it came from

 -1 lb. ground beef
-1 green pepper chopped
-1 envelope Good Seasons Zesty Italian mix
-1 tbl chili powder
-1 can (15 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
-1 can (15 oz.) kidney beans drained
-1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- ½ cup water
- 1 can (4 or 8 oz.) chopped green chilies, undrained

1. Brown beef with green peppers
2. Add Italian mix and chili powder and cook for about 2 minutes
3. Add remainder of ingredients and simmer about 30-45 minutes
4. Optional – serve with sour cream, cheddar cheese or other toppings you like
