Greetings from the sunshine state.... so no cooking this week but here are some yummy meals we have had. We ate here for lunch on day 1 - we each ordered something different - philly steak and a cuban - then went half-ies. Best deli sandwiches ever!
Yesterday we went to a Twins game - we were thirsty and had a hot dog too though not as good as Target Field!
Now we are on Sanibel Island - went shelling and sunning and next up biking... last night we ate at Twilights... we were seated at the bar that is right at the kitchen area. It was fun to watch the chefs at work and the food was awesome. Rochester could use a place like this. And on a funny note, we met a young waitress who is just working the season here from Minneapolis... it's a small world after all!
First we had a crab cake appetizer... the best ever - served with corn relish:
John had the grouper special...
I had - believe it or not - a homemade tangerine pasta with cucumbers and scallops - I might need to try making this pasta - the flavor was so good!
The a la mode part is that we found ice cream cakes from carvel. I grew up with this ice cream in NY... and haven't seen it in along time... so we may need to go back tonight to get one!
